Define Your Own Future

When you meet New York Eta Kate Louise Blumenthal, you know she is going to do great things. Kate, a member of New York Eta at has a personality, which is not easily forgotten, and a drive that is infectious. As a senior at New York University (NYU), Kate has not only bested New York City, she has also been able to define her future career.

After college, Kate plans on going into Hotel/Tourism Management. Since childhood, Kate has loved the idea of making people happy which lead her to the world of hotel management. Not only has she interned at multiple hotels in the NYC area, Kate also moved to Orlando where her internship taught her even more about the world of hotels. Her internship with Starwood, a major hotel brand, took Katie away from NYU and taught her all about how Starwood runs their resort properties. But what part of the massive industry really intrigues Kate? The answer is: Hotel Development. Kate wants to take her finely tuned hotelier brain and help to build, develop and price the world’s future hotels. Over the past three years, Kate has worked in all facets of hotels so she really understands what goes into a new property. A lofty goal, but one that Kate knows she will be able to achieve.

When deciding to go Greek, it became very clear for Kate that Pi Phi was the place for her. Between scholarship opportunities and a welcoming group of women who wanted to help Kate define her own future, Pi Phi quickly became an important part of Kate’s collegiate journey. Pi Phi also has presented Kate the opportunity to be mentored and also mentor younger women in the chapter. “Pi Phi can really give you what you put in” Kate said. Between setting up study hours and Facebook groups for every major to promoting Leading With Values on NYU’s campus, Kate really has put in a lot for our beloved Fraternity.
